Book Review:The history of new innovations in modern Medicine by James Okun, MD and Evangelita Goodwell

New thought and the threat to traditional Medicine
The history of new innovations in modern Medicine by James Okun, MD and Evangelita Goodwell

The history of Medicine includes the history of discoveries.  In this book, the author will give detailed information on the Dialysis machine, penicillin, the Foley Catheter, a new way of seeing the world, important and new innovation discoveries, as well as what these pioneer had in common as they came to discover the knowledge and tools those in medicine needed to prolong lived.

The reason I wanted to read this book is back in the day my real mom died of penicillin shot because she was allergic to it.  I also wanted to learn about cancer since my dad recently died of it.

If it were not for the inventions made by doctors in medicine many would have died in WW II.  The author would of become a Board Certified in Ophthalmology if it were not for his two types of disease that prevented him for obtaining it.  Who discovered Penicillin?  Dr. Alexander Fleming.  If it were not for the doctors the author would have died at a very young age from his diseases.  This is a book every American should hold in their hands, read, learn, and absorb.  This is my all-time favorite book in 2017!  @ 2017 Jackie Paulson

Hello my name is Jackie Paulson, a 50 year old women craving education thus my enrollment in my Master’s Degree in Human Resource.  I have accomplished my AA in Paralegal, My BA in Technical management although no work to be found.  That led me back into the cosmetology field which I did for 20 years and am completely burned out of.  I love my 3 cats and in my free time I love to Read!  I blog daily, doodle daily.  I love to organize anything and clean anything.  I hope to get to know one or two individuals in this class for a lifetime of friendship.  I am a Sagittarian and love being creative.  Let’s communicate.  I just moved to OHIO from IL in October of 2016, I left everything behind material wise to start my new life in a new area, also leaving behind my Independent daughter Jorden, age 22 born on Valentine’s Day.  I raised her as a single mother at 1.5 years old because my ex walked out on me and married a younger women.  I raised my daughter before going back to college.  I feel like half my life is over, but I am determined to say that these will be the best years of my life starting right now – I am an eternal Optimistic person.

Book Review: Everything You Need You Have by Gerad Kite

Is it true that everything you need, you have?  While reading Gerad Kite’s book you will learn how to look at things in a different perspective as well as living in the present moment.  It’s not about doing more it’s about being more.   Home is where you feel at peace it’s a permanent place inside yourself. This book gives you a ten-step program to find your “calm.”

“Wanting thigs to be a certain way is NOT freedom.”

“Achieving what you set out to do is NOT freedom.”

“Being the person you want to be is NOT freedom.” (Kite, 2016, page 20).

The journey the author takes the reader on beings with admitting you are lost.  You will learn how to use a pendulum.  What is a Pendulum?   A pendulum is a weight suspended from a pivot so that it can swing freely.   To find your true rest means getting your thoughts and actions away from chaos in the physical world and even your thoughts in your mind.  One way to get back to calm is to make a list of the activities you know will bring you back to a happy state of mind.  Extreme highs and lows are what you choose to do with your state of mind which is a manifestation of a mood or thought at a particular time in a particular place but they have little to do with “you.” When you take away all the labels we have been programmed to be, we are all the same, “a person.” What we all learn from Mr. Kite is the ten steps to find your natural rhythms, view your emotions from a different perspective, and finally experience a state of bliss that you can return over and over. “I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.”  @ 2016 Jackie Paulson
